A glimpse into my world....

Hello and welcome to my first website. I am currently a freshman at Portland State University. I am taking pre-med classes because I plan to complete many, many, many years of school to become a pediatrician. I am currently majoring in biology, specifically microbiology. Right now, I am a member of the Portland Pre-Health Society and the Vietnamese Student Association. Through this organization, I have been able to participate in the annual Culture Show, volunteer for the Children's Language and Culture program, and meet many new people. I will also be an orientation leader over the summer. Whoopie. . .the interviews were nerve-whacking but fun at the same time.
Lets see...a little bit about me. I like playing tennis, watching American Idol, eating pho (Vietnamese noodles), chow fun (Chinese noodles), the colors orange, yellow, and purple, hanging out with my buddies, and pecan pie. I don't like backstabbers, face attitudes, or chocolate (yes, I know that's weird...but I am a bit weird myself =)
I've learned a lot about myself during my first year at PSU. I am aware that the study skills I've grown accustomed to from high school will not suffice in college. Procrastination will never lead to success. I am learning to manage my time better and to study right away. When I do, I don't have to cram for finals and stress myself. I also find that hoping for an 'A' is the wrong frame of thinking. If I want something, I have to work hard for it; I must earn it. So I try my best to keep up with my assignments. I've learned to prioritize my time well, being sure that I study enough. But I also learned that if I study all the time, my mind will go insane. I am better at balancing my social life with my academic life. By doing so, I enjoy life much more. Okay...enough with the study tips...
