Students will understand the impact of individual and collective choices in society, for example through awareness of political and social phenomena. Students will become aware of the consequences of their actions on others.

Students will realize the value and importance of service to the community. This may be accomplished through various projects, such as volunteering with social action agencies.

Students will participate in a learning community, both intellectually and socially, through group projects and collaborative work in both peer mentor sessions and large classes. Students will also feel a sense of connection to faculty, the university community, and the surrounding metropolitan area.
